How to make a perfect omelet

Omelets are a favorite breakfast food of mine. How do you make them perfect? I've tried many different methods and recipes, but none of them seem to work! So I wanted to share some tips and tricks so that you can make delicious, fluffy omelets every morn.

Before we start making omelets, let's remember that eggs are temperamental. The eggs must be fresh from an organic source and kept at room temperature until they are ready to be cooked. You must keep them cool enough to allow the whites to form properly and the yolks to become too runny if they're not kept at the right temperature. This makes your omelets look weirdly colored. If you're going to cook them immediately, it is best if the eggs are still warm.

You can also separate the egg before you add it to the pan. You don't want the white to get mixed with the yolk, as this could cause the egg to curdle.

The egg can burn if it is placed directly on the stovetop. Instead, place the egg in the microwave for 10 second before you put it in the skillet. The microwave heat will cook the egg just right without making it too hot.

Next, let's talk about mixing the eggs. When you mix eggs together, you want to beat them well. To do this, grab the bowl of the mixer and turn it upside down. Then, vigorously shake the bowl. This way, the air inside the bowl gets whipped around and mixes the egg thoroughly.

Now comes the fun part - pouring the milk into the mixture. Mix half of the milk with the eggs. Then fold the eggs in half into the remaining milk. Don't worry if there are still streaks of egg visible; these streaks will disappear once you flip the omelet.

After you have done folding the eggs, heat the pan on medium heat. The oil will start to smoke. Once the oil starts getting hot, add 1/4 cup of butter to the pan and swirl it around to coat the entire surface of the pan. The lid should be carefully opened. Sprinkle salt in the pan. An additional pinch of salt will prevent the omelet form sticking to your pan.

Cover the pan once the omelet is formed and allow it to cool completely. Use a spatula to flip the omelet or turn the pan upside-down. Cook the other side for about a minute. Take the omelet out of the pan and immediately serve.

This recipe works best with whole milk, but skimmed milk also works.
